How does this thing work?

A Wisecomm OC960 camera is connected to a Slackware Linux server with a Hauppauge video capture card. A program called camserv creates a multipart JPEG stream that is sent to you.

The web server detects what browser you are running. If you are running Internet Explorer in Windows you get an auto-refreshing image. If you are running anything else you get the direct stream.
